On June 7, 2026, the community of Minitonas-Bowsman in western Manitoba was hit with an extreme rainfall event that dropped 148 millimeters of rain in just a few hours. The floods have damaged approximately 180 homes, washed away roads, and damaged critical infrastructure.

Samaritan's Purse Canada has deployed staff, volunteers, and equipment to the region. However, they are still in urgent need of volunteers. If you are interested, you can sign up by clicking below.

VOLUNTEER

The EFC and its partners have put together a resource, the Canadian Church Guide to Welcoming Refugees, to help private sponsors welcome individuals and families into a new life in Canada.

Filled with personal stories from those who have walked the path of sponsorship from the very first stages of inquiry to building relationships with the individuals and families who arrive in Canada, as well as stories and insights from refugees themselves, this resource is a tool for a discussion group or study guide in any church or community considering sponsorship. It will especially help those who want to be involved, but don’t know where to start on the journey of sponsoring refugees to Canada.

If you're interested, you can download the guide at the link below!

For the months of July and August, we will be going down to one newsletter per month! We'll see you on July 15 and August 12!

Devotional

Summer is finally here! Whether you're a college student finally out of exams, a parent counting down the days to summer vacation, or just looking forward to a relaxing day at the beach, we can all agree that this season has been a long time coming.

Ecclesiastes says there is a season for everything. Many of us tend to pack these next two months with everything we put off during the rest of the year. Family holidays, yard projects, events, camps, and everything in between. It's a long list for eight short weeks.

Some of us choose to use this time to simply rest instead, unplugging from the hustle of daily life and making space to recharge and resettle. There is no one "right" way to spend your summer!

Whatever you have planned over the next couple of months, we hope this season blesses you, recharges you, and brings you closer to Jesus.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live." -Ecclesiastes 3:11-12 NIV

We've noticed that from time to time, our newsletters have funny or hard to read formatting (on desktop)—please click "View in your browser" at the top right of this email for better readability.

Send your Family News or Gospel Gold articles/announcements/photos (subject to editorial review) to communications@acop.ca.

We'd 💙 to hear from you!
