"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong."*
Is this the manliest verse in the Bible?
"Act like men" is one word in the Greek (andrizomai); it's like a knock on the chin, a manly encouragement to survey the threats, to watch like a soldier, aware and alert.
To be strong is not 'benching 300 pounds,' but it is being so deeply rooted in God's truth, that when Satan tells you to "curse God and die," you, as a Father, husband, pastor, and friend, have the strength to "let all that you do be done in love." (vs. 14)
You are not shaken, man of God, and for that we bless you this Father's Day.
