Sharing our faith can be dangerous. As we know from the New Testament, the apostle Paul was imprisoned for preaching the Gospel, and there are countless stories of people working overseas who live in danger because they share the love of Jesus.
When Paul wrote to the Colossian church during his imprisonment, it is noteworthy that he does not ask them to be in prayer for his release or other physical needs. Rather, he asks them to pray for open doors to continue sharing his message of faith. God had given him a task, and regardless of where he was, he was going to see it through.
Whatever your situation, we encourage you to watch for open doors. They don't always announce themselves, but God will bring them to you, and getting to partner with Him in sharing His love is one of the most profound things we can do in this life.
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ." -Colossians 4:2-3 ESV |
