This Week in ACOP | March 18, 2026

Rev. Rob Parker pastors at Community Christian Center in Slave Lake, AB. He founded the National House of Prayer, an organization dedicated to the power of prayer towards the betterment of the Government of Canada and all Canadians.

He and his wife, Fran, believe greatly in the power of prayer. "Prayer is meant to be at the forefront. Prayer played a key role in the early church and all past revivals, but it wasn't casual prayer—it was concerted, united, and extraordinary prayer."

We're ready for some extraordinary 🙏 don't you think? See you @Conference!

On March 31st we begin a new round of Living Like a Missionary cohorts, and we’d love for you to be part of it. These 90-minute sessions—offered at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time—are designed to equip you to live as an everyday disciple maker right where God has placed you.

In a world hungry for hope, clarity, and authentic faith, we desperately need believers who understand how to join Jesus in His mission in practical, relational ways. This training is foundational for all ministry and Kingdom leadership, giving you the tools, confidence, and posture to make a real difference in the lives of those around you. And you won’t walk alone—you’ll be surrounded by like-minded people who share your heart for mission.

Living Like a Missionary is a key part of NewChurch—the ACOP church-planting initiative—and these cohorts are one of the primary ways we prepare leaders to multiply the Gospel in their communities. Register today and take the next step in becoming the disciple maker God designed you to be.

Devotional

The very first person for whom Jesus dies is not you or me or the thief on the cross. He dies first for a murderous, radicalized terrorist whose name is ‘Jesus Barabbas’, which literally means ‘Jesus son of the father’. Jesus, the perfect Son of God, dies for Jesus, the sinful son of another father.

Listen to the rest here: Journey to the Cross: Walk With Jesus this Lent

"Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said." -Matthew 27:27-29 NIV
