Re: Statement of Faith

Dear Friends,

Warm greetings from the ACOP National Office!

In 3 months, we will gather in Calgary for our Biennial Conference. One of the items on our agenda is a proposed change to our statement of faith regarding the nature of God.

At our conference in May of 2024, a proposal to change our statement about the nature of God was defeated by a single vote. That indicated a desire for change, but we needed a statement that better reflected our belief about the nature of God.

Since our last conference, the Faith, Life, and Theology group has developed a statement that better reflects our understanding of the nature of God. The proposed statement is, we believe:

“In the one true God, the Creator and Lord of all things, who lives eternally as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each distinct and fully divine.”

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 am Mountain Time, ACOP will host an interactive webinar where the Faith, Life, & Theology Team will present the proposed change, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

Attached to this memo are two articles, one by the Faith, Life, and Theology Team and one by me, articulating why this change is important for our Fellowship. Please take time to read these articles prior to the webinar.
