In 2016 the Gray jay (also called Canada jay) was selected as Canada's unofficial bird by Canadian Geographic. This bird is known for its survival skills as a "scatterhoarder," caching thousands of food items during the summer for use in the winter. It's also known for its cleverness—recovering their food caches (sometimes months later) by memory.

It's amazing what happens when a father comes to Jesus and is baptized! One of this dad's teens was suicidal and the other was involved in the occult, but he faithfully brought his kids to church and youth group. And now, this family is being changed from the inside out...

At this point in the season, it's safe to assume most of us are tired of winter. The excitement of the holidays feels like ages ago, and all we have now are ice patches that never seem to melt and a cold that gets right to your bones. 

Thankfully, spring is on its way! A few months away yet, yes, but getting closer every day. The days are already getting longer, bit by bit, a sweet reminder that they will get warmer soon too.

Even though we have to wait for it, spring will come again, as it does every year. God's promises are like that too; even if we can't see them, or are frustrated by the wait, they always come in His perfect timing. What a beautiful thing to hold to in the waiting! 

"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it." -1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 ESV
