Joy is the emotion most commonly associated with Christmas. Whether secular or religious, the joy of the season is everywhere, infectious and lovely.
When we think of Christmas, that well-loved carol comes to mind: Joy to the world, the Lord has come! Beneath the wrapping paper and twinkling lights and family traditions—all of which are wonderful in their own right—lies the true reason we celebrate. God sent His Son to save the world, and as we remember His birth year after year, our hearts are filled with joy as we think of what's to come.
"And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." -Luke 2:10-11 ESV |
