This Week in ACOP | June 11, 2025
Dear ACOP Family

We are in a time of transition, with plans in motion for electing a new ACOP President. As ACOP Trustees, we are sensing the need to seek God in a special way, and are asking if you, , would join us in a communal act of humility, obedience, and faith.

"While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them..." (Acts 13:2-3 NIV)

By coming together through prayer and fasting, we demonstrate our dependence on God and open our hearts to the Holy Spirit's leading. We desire this transition, election, and succession to be deeply rooted in prayer.

On the 15th day of every month, leading up to the Presidential Election next May, would you create a sacred space in your busy life to seek the Lord without distraction, and join us on these corporate days of prayer and fasting?

Fasting is a personal commitment to the Lord (decide if you'd like to fast one meal, or the whole day), but with obedience and faith, your commitment to fast demonstrates the urgency and seriousness of our prayers as ACOP Family. We desire to move forward with Grace & Hope, and long to see God's choice for our next President fulfilled.

We trust you'll join us, .

SUCCEEDING @SUCCESSION

Have a story of what God's doing in your church? We want to hear it! Click above to send us some Gospel Gold!

We have a teacher in our community who *was* a self-proclaimed atheist.

He began attending our church—seeking to find out what Christianity is all about. We met together and he asked what it means to be a follower of Jesus. This is a 180 degree turn from where his faith was six months ago. He has since made a profession of faith and is looking to be baptized!

Rev. Shadreck Kapeza

Rev. Shadreck Kapeza went to be with Lord this week. Rev. Kapeza was the former president of the ACOP of Zambia. Please remember his family and the church in Zambia in your prayers as they mourn the loss of a great leader.

Devotional

When God calls a leader, He is not looking for those with the best qualifications, or the most experience, or the highest education. Rather, He chooses those who are after His heart, willing to learn and grow. Each of us has that potential within us, whether or not we are aware of it.

David went from a mere shepherd to king of a nation, all because God chose him for something greater, far beyond his original circumstances. We are all capable of walking in what God calls us into; He will help and shape us along the way. All He asks from us is our obedience.

"He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance. With upright heart he shepherded them, and guided them with his skillful hand." -Psalm 78:70-72 ESV
