Have a story of what God's doing in your church? We want to hear it! Below is a moment from one of our churches; we hope it encourages you!

One Sunday morning a man came in, sat near the front, and wept through the entire service.

In talking to him after the service—he expressed an encounter with the Spirit of God (at home) and he found himself at our church that Sunday. He surrendered his life to following Jesus.

He's been attending church faithfully, involved in small groups, and was baptized! He has passion for the Word of God and shares what God has done. It has been a joy—not only for him—but for all of us to see God's evident work in his heart and life.

Devotional

Hopelessness is a feeling we've all experienced in one way or another. To be human is to go through times of disquiet and turmoil. There's nothing wrong with feeling sad or unsure, but sitting in that sadness doesn't lead us anywhere but further down.

Being able to put our hope in God is easy enough in theory, but more difficult in practice, especially if we're coming from a low point. Something to remember in these moments is that God doesn't let us down. When we reach out to Him for help, He's right there to hold out a hand and lift us back onto our own feet, onto steady, even ground. What a joy, that even in the midst of our upset, we can count on our Father to raise us up and bring us peace.

"Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God." -Psalm 42:11 ESV
