Sometimes, doing the right thing is really hard. It can become draining, especially if we don't see an immediate result; our world today is one of instant gratification.

There are also times where showing kindness to another person is the last thing we want to do. Maybe we're frustrated by a bad habit, or tired of repeating the same request a hundred times, or we simply do not get along no matter how hard we try. The easy choice, the one that feels good in the moment, is to let our emotions lead us, which often results in hurt feelings or growing resentment and is usually not the ideal way of handling the situation.

We are called to show the love of Christ wherever we go, to give those around us a glimpse of what it is to be loved unconditionally by our Heavenly Father. And often, this means doing what we know to be right, even if it's the last thing we want to do.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." -Galatians 6:9-10 NIV
