in order to claim the Clergy Residence Tax Deduction on your paycheque (Pastors from their churches) that it needs to be pre-approved by CRA? 

It takes approximately 8 weeks for the approvals from CRA. If you claim this deduction, the forms need to be sent to CRA for approval no later than October for the approvals to arrive by January for the next year’s deductions (2025). 

You need to send the T1213 along with the T1223, proof of status (membership card or copy of Commissioned or Ordained certificate) and job descriptions are required. Visit the Government of Canada website (below) and search T1213 and T1223 to find the forms you need. 😊
