"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." -Romans 8:26 ESV

Sometimes, when we sit down to pray, we come up short for words. Maybe there are too many thoughts swirling around in our minds, or we don't know how to articulate what we are feeling. Whatever it is, it can be hard to pray when we're not even sure what to pray for.

Despite all this, God knows what's in our hearts even if we are unable to get it into words. A prayer as simple as "God, help me" is more effective than we think. God loves us and He wants to help us and hear our cries. We don't have to do it in our own strength.
